Foley Catheter Insertion:  UbiSim VR Training Module

The device traditionally known as the Foley catheter has now been updated in medical terminology to "indwelling catheter," and UbiSim is pleased to announce that it has been fully integrated into our virtual scenarios. As part of our latest 1.15 release, this tool not only functions within the virtual environment but also triggers realistic after-effects on the patient's condition, providing a more immersive and clinically accurate experience for nursing learners.

At UbiSim, we've listened to your feedback and incorporated these crucial patient responses into our virtual reality platform. Now, when nursing learners insert an indwelling catheter in our scenarios, the patient’s condition will dynamically adjust.

Learners will see vital signs like heart rate and blood pressure return to normal, offering them immediate feedback on the effectiveness of their care. This not only increases engagement but also reinforces the value of patient-centered care, showing nurse learners the direct, positive impact their interventions can have on a patient’s overall health and recovery.

Enhanced Learning Experience with UbiSim’s Intuitive Editor

Our commitment to improving nurse education doesn’t stop there. With the Intuitive Editor, nurse educators and administrators can now customize simulations involving the indwelling catheter more than ever before. Educators can tailor responses to specific patient scenarios, adjusting parameters like normalizing vital signs.

Final Thoughts

As nurse educators, you can now guide students through complex scenarios that include using the indwelling catheter, ensuring they are better prepared for clinical settings where these skills are vital. UbiSim’s goal is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice, and with this update, we’re providing a more interactive and effective way for students to learn.
