2023 UbiSim Survey Reveals the Impact of Immersive VR Simulation on Nurse Education

Representing the views of 1,276 stakeholders* in nursing simulation, including nurse learners, instructors, simulation directors, and program administrators, this survey provides valuable insights into the practical benefits of using immersive VR technology.

Cost-Effectively Scaling Nursing Programs 

UbiSim has proven to be a cost-effective solution for expanding nursing education and training programs, according to 99% of Nursing Deans and Directors, as well as 95% of Simulation Directors. 

Among those who agree with the cost-effectiveness of UbiSim, a staggering 74% have reported a growth of 10% or more in their nursing programs since implementing UbiSim.

Enabling Enrollment Expansion and Increased Capacity

An overwhelming majority of Nursing Deans and Directors (96%) admit that their nursing program has turned away qualified applicants due to inadequate simulation facilities and resources.

Fortunately, the use of UbiSim's headset-based immersive VR has proven to be a game-changer, with 97% of Nursing Deans and Directors witnessing an increased ability to attract and accept more students.

Preparing Nurses for the Real World

UbiSim provides a highly realistic training experience, confirmed by 75% of nurse learners. Additionally, an equal percentage of nurse learners said they believe UbiSim effectively prepares them for their future roles as nurses.

One of the most revealing findings from the survey was the way Simulation Directors ranked the benefits of UbiSim. The top three reasons they pick UbiSim are to:

3. Increase learner engagement

One of the Simulation Directors who participated in the survey summed up the third point, saying:

"UbiSim makes students enthusiastic about learning. They can learn through mistakes and challenges and improve their skills without worrying about the impact on patients."
